Educational Visit to Germany

Last December, a group of 24 students from the German classes of Form 3 and Form 4 spent a week in Speyer, Germany. The students were accompanied by Ms Tania Chircop, Ms Carmen Abela and Mr Aaron Grech. During their stay they had the opportunity to attend school and observe lessons. The group was greeted by a warm welcome by the head of school and the administration. The boys also visited many places of cultural and historical interest.

At almost every destination students had worksheets to fill in and tasks to accomplish. The Maltese group were invited by the mayor and local council of Speyer and greeted personally by the minister of Rheinland-Pfalz. Journalists were present for the session and a couple of students and the teachers were interviewed for the local newspaper of Schifferstadt. It must be noted that the boys were interviewed in German and they accomplished their task perfectly.

Every evening a feedback session was held and all participants enthusiastically worked on their travel journal. This included new German vocabulary learnt on the day, new experiences, likes and dislikes as well as budgeting and expenses. Group games were held regularly to ensure interaction between all members of the group.
